New Financial Aid Information

Archbishop Mitty High School, under the auspices of the Diocese of San Jose, is pleased to
introduce our new financial aid management company, FACTS, which will collect and evaluate levels of financial aid need for the 2017-2018 school year. FACTS purchased PSAS earlier this year and as our returning families will see, most of the information, guidelines, and documentation will be similar to the format of the PSAS application.

All families requesting financial aid will be directed to our website to create an account with FACTS. Applications must be submitted online. Supporting documentation, including 2016 W-2s and 2015 Federal Tax returns, should be uploaded, faxed, or mailed. This is a secure online process, where you will provide a username and a password. After creating your account,, you can login whenever it is convenient. Once logged in, you can fill out the application; update, change, and save information; track your progress; and communicate directly with helpful and knowledgeable FACTS staff members. The application is easy to navigate and the instructions are clear. The application is available in English and Spanish.

Only one application per household is required. If you are a returning family, you will be able to log in to your 2016-2017 PSAS application for reference. Financial aid applications will be available through our website, mitty.com, beginning November 20th and will be due February 6th. Families who want to be considered for financial aid for the 2017-2018 school year are encouraged to apply. Financial aid is awarded on a need-basis only.

Athletics Report

Volleyball Team Advances to CCS Semifinals
This weekend, the women's volleyball team advanced to the CCS semifinals after winning a game against Menlo School, with a score of 3-0. In order to earn the chance to compete at the next level, the team turned out sets of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-17, demonstrating their consistent power throughout the match. During the game, four Monarchs had seven or more kills. The team was led by junior Nicole Liddle, who had 11 kills. The team made some outstanding blocks and was led by senior Candice Denny. All 14 players contributed and stayed focus, moving the team to the next level of competition.

Field Hockey Advances to CCS Semifinals
The field hockey team had a 2-0 win against St. Ignatius on Saturday, November 5th, earning them a spot in the CCS semifinals on Wednesday, November 9th. This was the third time the Monarchs faced St. Ignatius this season. From the first whistle, every player was focused on the game. Senior Shea Gavin turned out a strong performance and was responsible for both the goals. Senior defender Felicity Dei Rossi was also a key player during the game and played with a passion that was contagious to her teammates. Felicity's ability to stop the opposing team's offense, and then dribble through two to three players to start an attack, was a game changing component of the team's victory. Senior forward and captain Catherine Cecilio also did a great job using her possession and strong dribbling skills to initiate the Monarch offense.

Important Dates for Next Year, 2017-18

It isn't too early to begin planning for next school year, 2017-18. The administration sets important dates, including school holidays, long in advance to enable families to make long-range plans knowing the potential impact on their students in terms of missed school. We ask that families endeavor to avoid having their children miss school whenever possible. Please be particularly conscious of the schedule of semester final exams in December of 2017 and May of 2018.

A complete listing of AMHS holidays and important dates for 2017-18 can be found on the school's website by following this link.
