2026 Summer Athletic Camps

Co-Educational Athletics

Co-Ed Badminton - All Skills (Rising 7-9 Grade)

Under the direction of our AMHS Head Badminton Coach Julia Rodriguez, student athletes will receive training on a variety of badminton techniques that include footwork, shot drills, communication and mindful exercises. This camp is open to all skill levels however athletes will be grouped by experience, and for the purpose of single, doubles, and mixed doubles style of play. By the end of camp, athletes can expect improved physical and mental skills needed for the sport. Badminton racquets will be provided; however, athletes who own a personal racquet are encouraged to bring it to camp.

Under the direction of AMHS Sports Performance Director Brett Nichols, participants will receive coaching on a variety of introductory training techniques in the AMHS weight room and training facilities. The camp is designed to improve body awareness and control through the use of basic, bodyweight movements. By the end of camp, participants can expect enhanced body wellness in preparation for future competitive sports.

Under the direction of AMHS Head Baseball Coach Brian Yocke and his staff, this camp is geared towards junior high baseball players interested in developing ALL aspects of their offensive game! There will be discussions, drills, and demonstrations that will cover everything from Situational Hitting to high level Advantage Count approach. Players will walk away with not only a lot of repetitions, but an understanding (and set of drills) that they can take with them to further their development beyond our week together on the field!

Every day there will be a variety of detailed focus on different aspects of the game including: Positional Defense, team defense, agility, base running, and competitive situations!

Under the direction of AMHS Head Men's Basketball Coach Tim Kennedy and his staff, camp instruction will break down shooting from the ground up to the follow-through. Each day we will work through the fundamentals of shooting including your footwork, the flow of your shot and the perfect finish. We will work everyday on all the different types of shots you will encounter in a game: catch & shoot, off the move and off the dribble.

Each day we will work on the fundamentals of ball handling, finishing moves and techniques for being able to score using on-ball screens and off-ball screens.

Camp instruction will be broken down by position and led by a member of the coaching staff. Fundamentals, footwork, technique, knowledge, and competition will be the focus for the camp and its participants.

Lacrosse - Fundamentals and Skillbuilding (Rising 7- 9 Grade)

Under the direction of AMHS Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Blake Hurt and his staff, campers will learn the skills necessary to play the Mitty way of lacrosse. Players will participate in drills focusing on basic fundamentals and techniques involving passing, catching, and ground balls. Players will also be split into position specific groups to work on position specific skill drills such as footwork, long passing, and shooting. Athletes are grouped by age and ability.


Soccer - All Skills (Rising 6-9 Grade)

In this camp, AMHS Head Men's Soccer Coach Cesar Sanchez teaches the technical and tactical skills for competitive soccer. For younger players, improving individual skills is emphasized such as dribbling, passing, receiving and controlling the ball, defending and tackling, as well as shooting. For the more experienced player, athletes are taught team play with an emphasis on advanced technical ball skills to promote group defensive and offensive tactics and techniques.

Throughout the week, our coaches reinforce key elements of defense, passing, setting, hitting and blocking through fun and interactive learning experiences. By the end of camp, players will have successful strategies for the intricacies of team play and competitive volleyball.

Under the direction of AMHS Head Men's Volleyball Coach Lacey Andersion, this camp is designed for all advanced level players who are looking to compete, refine and grow their volleyball skills. All the skills of volleyball including serving, passing, setting, attacking and defense will be learned at camp. Each day will cover technical development of each skill followed by competitions to incorporate their skill development into game-like situations. Current players in the program will act as assistant coaches and play with campers for them to experience a high school level of play.

For more experienced water polo players, our coaches emphasize game strategy and fundamental skills through detailed instruction, drills, and game scenarios.

Under the direction of AMHS Head Woman's Field Hock Coach Justina Williams, this camp is designed to be highly engaging where athletes of all ages and skill level (beginner to advanced) have fun playing the game of field hockey. In this camp, our coaches emphasize dribbling, shooting, passing and scoring skills appropriate for each level as well as defensive positioning and tackling. During the small games play portion of the camp, players will be grouped according to age and/or ability to promote fun while learning new technical and tactical skills. Wear comfortable athletic attire. Field hockey sticks are provided for use; however, players are required to provide their own soccer shin guards.

Under the direction of AMHS Head Flag Football Coach Brendon Foster, this camp covers the fundamentals of flag football while focusing on the following skills: route running, passing, catching, defensive positioning, flag pulling technique and footwork. Each day will include competitions in addition to skillwork. No experience in playing flag football is necessary to attend the camp.

Under the direction of AMHS Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Alyssa Dunlap and her staff, campers will develop the fundamental skills needed to play lacrosse. Participants will take part in fast paced drills, emphasizing passing, catching, shooting, and ground balls, with groups organized by age and ability. Each session will also include footwork, agility training, and rule interpretation. This camp is geared towards beginner to intermediate lacrosse players.

Learn to play the “Monarch Way” with AMHS HEAD Women's Soccer Coach JT Hanley, his coaches, and current players, who will teach you the technical and tactical aspects of “the beautiful game”. Younger players will focus on improving individual technique, including dribbling, passing and receiving, defending and tackling, as well as shooting and finishing. More experienced players are exposed to advanced tactical team concepts of soccer, with an emphasis on improving technical ability and speed of play to promote group defensive and offensive success. If you are a goalkeeper, you’ll receive specialized instruction focusing on technical handling and footwork, tactical awareness, and physical presence. Most importantly, there’s plenty of fun and open play for everyone to put your new skills to use.
