The Black Student Union and Latinx American Student Union are two of the oldest clubs on campus dating back to before the 1980’s. These clubs serve as a community within a community for many students of color on Mitty’s campus. Many joint activities take place each year, such as a trip to Dave and Busters, ice cream socials or the ever popular BSU/LASU overnight retreat. Though monitored by on campus faculty and administrators, the clubs themselves are student organized and led. Both clubs meet regularly throughout the school year on and off campus. All students are welcome.
The purpose of the Black Student Union is to celebrate and embrace Black identity and culture while understanding the issues impacting the Black experience at AMHS and within the community at large. This club welcomes all Mitty students, regardless of ethnic background. Click HERE for a webpage dedicated to Black History Month.
The Latinx American Student Union provides a network of social, spiritual and academic support to Latinx students at Archbishop Mitty High School. We strive to educate and celebrate Latinx culture and history amongst ourselves and with the larger Mitty community. We welcome all Mitty students, regardless of ethnic background.
