Women's Water Polo Team Takes Consecutive Wins
The women's water polo team is less than a month into their season but had strong recent performances with two consecutive victories. The Monarchs secured a 17-5 win against Notre Dame last week. Senior Lauren Kopiej had her first goal of the season. The game was also senior goalie Trinity Billingslea's first game of the season due to an injury. She did not disappoint with her performance and had nine blocks. Junior Amanda Rice also had three goals. The team had a strong counter attack, anticipating the other team's moves and getting out early.

Just five days earlier, the team had a 6-2 win against Presentation. Senior Molly Teresi had a phenomenal game that included three goals and three blocked shots in a single game. Senior Shelby Frey had two beautiful goals, shooting high cross-cage and senior goalie Cleo Constantin blocked seven goals and was the backbone of the team's defense.

Men's Water Polo Takes Third at St. Francis Invitational
Recently, the men's water polo team placed third at the St. Francis Invitational Tournament. The Monarchs started strong, defeating Salinas 14-5 and Aptos 17-8. After falling to Tamalpias in the semis, the men rallied to take the third place match against St. Ignatius 11-8. The wins were sparked by excellent performances from two senior goalies, Jaxon Verbeck and Alejandro Verolin. The offense saw multiple goals from senior forward and team captain Conor MacLean and outstanding counter attack goals from the team's leading scorer, senior Dylan Luu.
