Women's Volleyball

The AMHS women’s volleyball team is the premier prep volleyball program in the country, and this past fall, the Monarchs captured their third consecutive WCAL title and their second Open Division CCS title in the past three years. Over the years, the program has produced some incredible alumnae, including three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri (Walsh ’96) Jennings. The Monarchs have claimed fourteen CIF State Championships since 1993. The program offers varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams.

Jake Spain

Jake Spain brings more than seventeen years of coaching experience and a remarkable track record of success at both the high school and club levels. In his first year at the helm this past fall, Jake led the Monarchs to a WCAL and CCS Open Division title. Previously the head coach at Marin Catholic High School, he led the program to seven straight NCS championships and a NorCal Open Division title in 2019. Jake has coached 11 teams to Open Division qualification and earned prestigious honors such as the CIF Model Coach Award (2021–2022) and the 2024 NCS Honor Coach Award.
