This past season, the team won the CCS Open Division Championship and competed in the NorCal playoffs. Over the years, the women’s soccer program has claimed an impressive 15 CCS championships. Two-time World Cup Champion Brandi Chastain ’86 highlights the growing list of Monarchs to take their skills to the next level.
Coach Hanley brings 34 years of coaching experience to the program and has led the Monarchs to eight WCAL championships and six CCS championships since taking over the women’s soccer program in 2007. Prior to coming to Archbishop Mitty, he served as the head coach of the women’s soccer program for 11 years at Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, leading the Dragons to eight league titles and the school's first-ever NCS championship. Over the years, Coach Hanley has served as a head coach for several Bay Area youth soccer organizations, including the Bay Oaks Soccer Club. He has also served as the head state team coach in the Olympic Development Program for the California Youth Soccer Association-North. In addition to his experience working with youth, Coach Hanley is currently the head women’s soccer coach for the Olympic Club of San Francisco, where he has led the program to three consecutive USASA National Amateur Championships. He also serves as an Associate National Staff Instructor for United Soccer Coaches, a position he has held since 1999.
