Women's Soccer

The women’s soccer program has built a proud tradition of excellence, highlighted by 18 CCS Championships and the program’s first ever CIF NorCal Championship in 2024. That legacy is further defined by alumni who have excelled on the world stage, including two time FIFA World Cup Champion Brandi Chastain ’86, who leads a growing list of Monarchs advancing to the next level. Committed to developing student-athletes at every stage, the program fields varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams, fostering both competitive success and long term growth.

Head Coach: J.T. Hanley

With more than 40 years of coaching experience, Coach Hanley has built one of the premier programs in high school soccer. Since taking over in 2007, he has led the Monarchs to 10 WCAL Championships, eight CCS titles, and the program’s 2024 CIF NorCal Championship, building a culture defined by consistency and competitive excellence. His achievements have earned national recognition, including being named a 2020–21 National Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations. Prior to Archbishop Mitty, he guided Bishop O'Dowd High School to its first ever NCS Championship. He has also served as head coach within the Olympic Development Program, The Olympic Club, and Bay Oaks Soccer Club, and is an associate national staff instructor for United Soccer Coaches.
