The men’s basketball program has established a tradition of excellence, consistently competing at the highest levels while building a legacy defined by championship success. In its history, the Monarchs have captured 16 WCAL, 13 CCS, six CIF NorCal, and two CIF State Championships.The program’s impact extends beyond high school, with alumni continuing to excel at the highest levels, including Aaron Gordon ’13 of the Denver Nuggets. Dedicated to developing players at every stage, the program offers varsity, junior varsity, and freshman A and B teams, providing a comprehensive pathway for growth, competition, and long term success.
Head Coach: Tim Kennedy
Coach Kennedy has more than 20 years of coaching experience. For the past 18 years, he has coached the Monarchs, leading the men’s basketball program to nine WCAL Championships, eight CCS Championships, four NorCal Championships, and two State Championships. While in high school, he was a four-year varsity starter and the first WCAL player to be named Player of the Year in consecutive seasons. Coach Kennedy earned a scholarship to Loyola Marymount University. After college, he spent six years playing basketball overseas for European professional basketball leagues and the Irish National Team. Coach Kennedy was named the CCS Honor Coach for the 2023-24 season.
