Transportation

Getting to Archbishop Mitty

Archbishop Mitty High School welcomes students from throughout the Bay Area, welcoming  students from over 210 different middle schools to our student body . We know that transportation is an important consideration when choosing a high school, and we want families to feel confident that getting to and from campus can be manageable.
Whether your student lives a few minutes away or commutes from farther across the South Bay, AMHS offers several transportation resources to help families find an option that works for them.
Families can take advantage of our Morning Bus Program, Carpool Program, and local public transportation options. With students traveling from many different cities and neighborhoods, families often discover they have more transportation possibilities—and more Monarch families nearby—than they expected.

How the Morning Bus Program Works

The program is available for the full school year, with morning service only. Students can participate in athletics, performing arts, clubs, study sessions, and other after-school activities without being tied to an afternoon bus schedule.

Carpool Program

Find your community close to home.

With students commuting from throughout the Bay Area, many families discover that other AMHS students live closer than they realized. Our Carpool Program helps connect nearby families to coordinate transportation and share the daily commute.

Participating families connect with others in their area, then communicate directly to create arrangements that work for their individual schedules.

A shared ride. A stronger community.

  • Share the driving: Coordinate morning and afternoon responsibilities.
  • Meet nearby Monarchs: Connect with families in your neighborhood.
  • Stay flexible: Arrange rides around co-curricular activities.
  • Build friendships: Give students another opportunity to connect.

Public Transportation

Connected to the South Bay and beyond.

AMHS is conveniently located near VTA bus service, providing another transportation option for students throughout the South Bay.

VTA Route 25

Part of VTA’s Frequent network, Route 25 travels along the Moorpark Avenue corridor near campus. It connects East San José, central San José, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, West San José, and the De Anza College area.

Connect to the Morning Bus Program

Families may also be able to combine public transportation with our Morning Bus Program. Several pick-up locations are at or near major transit hubs, including Warm Springs/South Fremont BART Station and VTA Great Mall.
