Placement Exams for the Archbishop Mitty Class of 2028

Who Should Take Placement Exams?

Placement exams are part of a comprehensive placement program that allows Archbishop Mitty High School to place each student in the most appropriate level of course work. Many incoming freshmen will take placement exams; specifically, the following students must take placement exams:

  • All students who have taken Algebra I or Geometry should take the Math Placement Exam. Students who are currently enrolled in Algebra II or higher level math courses do not need to take the exam.  The math department chair will make your placement. [Please note: the placement test you take is based on the math class you are currently enrolled in at school. More information will be sent to students who have completed additional UC approved, accredited math courses at other insitutions.] Here are answers to Frequently Asked questions regarding math placement.
  • All students who have studied Spanish, French or Mandarin Chinese should take the World Languages placement exam.
  • All students with a strong background in science and a love of the subject should take the science placement exam.
