Service Learning

Get Started Early on Your Service Learning Hours!

The Service Learning Program provides students with the opportunity to witness their commitment to Christian values through service to the wider community. Students are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of in-person service for the 24-25 school year. Students may also participate in our Faith in Action Camp over the summer or our Cornerstone Youth Group during the school year to fulfill their hours.

For more information on our Service Learning Program, please go to our Service Learning Website.   Any questions about the Service Learning Program can be directed to the Service Learning Coordinator, Mr. John Marheineke, or by phone 408.342.4215.

Register For Faith In Action Service Learning Summer Class!

Have you ever thought to put your faith in action? This summer, students in the Class of 2028 can fulfill all AMHS Service Learning Hours required for freshman year by teaming up with our Campus Ministry faculty and staff to learn about service needs of people living in our local community. With one-on-one mentoring from faculty, participating students will build a ‘Capstone Project’ that offers a detailed plan for how to address a service need in our area.  During this two-week immersive experience students will friend classmates, discover a cause greater than themselves, and find the inspiration to make a difference.  Space is limited and Financial aid is available for qualifying families.  Visit Summer Programs to register today!

Sign-up for a Youth Group in the Fall or Spring- Cornerstone

Cornerstone is a youth ministry program for Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors that combines both youth group faith experiences and service learning in a supportive community.  Once a week for eight weeks, the group will meet and either go to a service location in the San Jose area to complete service learning or they will stay on campus to participate in a youth group gathering.  Youth group gatherings will be a mixture of prayer, fun community building activities, small group sharing, & discussion of important issues. Cornerstone is a semester long program, however, a student is welcome to  continue to come for the full year if they desire. Visit Cornerstone to register for the Fall or Spring next year.
