AMPA

The Archbishop Mitty Parent Association (AMPA) brings parents together in support of the school and the greater community through social events and service opportunities. Volunteer or attend an upcoming AMPA event and experience firsthand the many benefits of becoming involved in the Mitty community!

Objectives

  • to strengthen and support the Mitty community by providing opportunities for parents to work together and socialize
  • to provide opportunities for volunteerism among parents
  • to provide service and financial support that enhance student programs

Membership

There is no need to sign up to be part of the parent association.  By nature of having a student enrolled at Mitty, all Mitty parents are automatically considered AMPA members. 

AMPA Board

The AMPA board is comprised of volunteers who serve as liaisons to the AMHS parent community as well as spearhead, lead and volunteer for the various AMPA-sponsored activities. Each board member serves on one or more of the following committees: Administrative Support, Athletic Program Support, Faculty Correspondence, Mailing, Parent Support, Performing Arts Support, Social, Volunteer Facilitation, and the Mitty Auction. In addition, the AMPA board is chaired by a leadership team of past, present and future AMPA Presidents.

Facebook Parent/Caregiver Groups 

We have established Facebook groups exclusively for parents and caregivers of each AMHS class. These private groups, managed and moderated by AMPA and school administrators, have been established to make our parents feel welcome, have questions answered and find support and useful information from others in our Monarch community. AMPA Events 

Throughout the year, the Archbishop Mitty Parent Association plans events and provides services that benefit the entire Mitty community. These activities provide invaluable assistance to the school and offer opportunities for parents to get to know one another and have some fun. Due to current government restrictions related to Covid-19, we are not allowed to gather in large groups, thus our physical events have been cancelled. Fall Luncheon and Book Review

A popular event for Mitty parents, alumni and friends. Attendees enjoy a luncheon, followed by a book review by faculty members.

The Mitty Auction

The only AMPA fundraiser of the year, the auction is held in spring, and is always a highly anticipated event.  Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund. Volunteers are always needed.  Please email Jennifer Hull, Director of Special Events, if interested.

Parent Volunteering

Over 600 parents annually provide vital support to Mitty through volunteerism. AMPA activities that rely on such support are the annual Mitty Auction, Athletic Programs, Performing Arts, Mailings, Parent Support, Administration Support and the events. Most volunteer activities take place after work hours. Volunteering might only take a few hours of your time, but is critical to the school, and is a great way to network with other parents, learn about your student’s environment, and share in the many traditions that make Mitty so unique and special.

Faculty/Staff Partnership Program

Please help make our faculty/staff appreciation program a continued success by dropping off those sporting event tickets, theater tickets, gift certificates or vacation home vouchers that you are unable to use. All donations are tax-deductible. It is a wonderful and deeply appreciated way to recognize the enthusiasm and excitement of the phenomenal Mitty faculty and staff. You may also drop off your donation at the Main Office in care of Jennifer Hull.
