Another Great Night to be a Monarch!

Last Thursday marked a magical night for the Archbishop Mitty community. Monarch Madness XXVI, which was held in the City National Civic, left students, faculty, and families alike feeling the true power of what it means to be a Monarch. From the opening production of "National Tour" to the class dances, games, and another exceptional ROAR competition, the evening was filled with tangible excitement, competition, and community. As students sang this year's liturgical theme song, "Never Gonna Let You Down" by Colbie Caillat, the event lived up to its billing as the greatest night to be a Monarch!

The Class of 2017 came away with the victory and its name will be engraved on the school trophy. Monarch Madness XXVI once again showcased that the entire Archbishop Mitty community can come together and celebrate all of its members and the gifts God has given each of us. Thank you to all who participated and attended this glorious event.

Catholic Relief Services Rice BowlSchool Spirit

This week, Catholic Relief Services invites us to reflect upon the Catholic social teaching theme of "Preferential Option for the Poor" through its work in East India. In this principle, Jesus tells us to give special care to those who are most in need. He reminds us of our Christian duty to give a voice to those who are unheard and to help those who are most vulnerable. To learn more about Catholic social teaching and how CRS Rice Bowl is helping families in East India, please visit crsricebowl.org. Also this week, consider joining your classmates in fasting from soda and donating the amount you might have spent in your religion class!

Third Quarter Report Cards

The third quarter grading period ends on Friday, March 10th. Report cards will be available on Monday, March 20th. The report card link can be found on the Archbishop Mitty website under Quick Links-Report Card.

Counseling

SENIORS
As you hear back from colleges, please update your Naviance account and let your recommenders know the good news.

For California State Universities (CSUs), please make sure to check your specific application portal account for any important to-do items (i.e. missing documentation, housing application, additional testing, etc.). Your counselor does not have access to these accounts, so you would need to notify your counselor if a college is missing information or documents.

FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS
You will meet with your counselor to review your tentative 2017-18 schedules starting March 16th. The schedule is as follows:

March 16th & 17th: Juniors in religion classes
March 20th & 21st: Sophomores in social studies classes
March 22nd & 23rd: Freshmen in English classes

Please review the course descriptions on the school's website for prerequisite requirements and options. If applicable, you will be ranking classes on your scheduled day. Your counselor will review your course load to make sure that it is balanced and manageable with your activities.
