ASB Elections Approaching
Is your student interested in leadership at Archbishop Mitty High School? Applications for candidates interested in running for ASB are now available through the "Activities" page of myMitty. This is a great opportunity for a son or daughter, who is interested in the ultimate experience in school leadership. Do you have more questions? Invite your student to come to Student Activities for answers. Our first informational meeting will be held at 7:15 a.m. this Friday, March 17th, in Room 501.

Junior Prom Tickets available soon
The junior prom will be held on Saturday, April 8th, at the beautiful Villa Ragusa in downtown Campbell. Ticket sales for the event, which celebrates the Class of 2018 with the theme of La La Land, will begin on Tuesday, March 21st. On that day, tickets for the junior prom will be priced at $75 each. After purchasing the prom ticket(s), please have your child wait 30 minutes for the transaction to process and then visit the "Student Life" page at mitty.com, where they can click junior prom/senior ball options to select a table assignment and picture times, using the student's myMitty username and password. To go directly to that page, go here. Picture times and tables can ONLY be selected after purchasing a ticket and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students and parents should review the expectations for junior prom on the Dances page of the school's website, which includes dress code examples and a link to the guest pass form for non-Mitty guests.

CRS RicebowlSchool Spirit

This week Catholic Relief Services invites us to reflect upon the Catholic social teaching theme of the "Sacredness and Dignity of the Human Person" through its work in Zambia. In this principle, we remember that when God created us, we were made in God's image and likeness. That means that every human being has a special value and purpose. We need to care for each other so that we can be the people God calls us to be. To learn more about Catholic social teaching and how CRS Rice Bowl is helping families in Zambia, please visit crsricebowl.org. Also this week, consider joining your classmates in fasting from chocolate and
donating the amount you might have spent in your religion class!

Monarch Day of GivingSchool Spirit

On Saturday, March 4th, we had our first ever Monarch Day of Giving volunteer day. Alumni and friends went to the Homeless Garden Project in Santa Cruz where we turned soil to make way for a new crop. We also donated gloves to the garden for their future endeavors. It was a beautiful day to dive into the dirt and give back to our community.

This weekend, after falling behind 4-0 in the top of the first, the Monarchs came back to win 8-4. Senior JP Caldwell got the win and junior Luke Tillman was stellar in 4 innings of relief. Seniors Kodi Thurber and Tyler Jochen both went 2 for 2 from the plate. The Monarchs are currently ranked among the top 20 teams in the state by Cal-Hi Sports. Congratulations, Monarchs.

For California State Universities (CSUs), please make sure to check your specific application portal account for any important to-do items (i.e. missing documentation, housing application, additional testing, etc.). Your counselor does not have access to these accounts, so you would need to notify your counselor if a college is missing information or documents.

March 16th & 17th: Juniors in religion classes
