Student Activities

Junior Prom Tickets NOW Available
The Junior Prom will be held on Saturday, April 23rd, at the beautiful Villa Ragusa in downtown Campbell. The theme for the evening is The Great Gatsby and tickets are now available and priced at $75 each at mitty.com. Within 30 minutes of purchasing the prom ticket(s), please have your child visit the Student Life page at mitty.com, then click Junior Prom/Senior Ball options to select a table assignment and picture time (using student's myMitty UserName and Password). Click here to automatically be taken to the page where dress expectations and guest pass forms can be accessed. Picture times and table selections can ONLY be done after purchasing a ticket and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may not save or in anyway reserve seats for students who have not yet purchased tickets.

ASB Elections Are Gearing Up
Did your student miss the information meeting for ASB but is still interested in being a candidate? He or she can enroll in the Activities page on myMitty to gather the election packet and all details to run for office. Just make sure that your student attends the MANDATORY meeting Wednesday, April 6th, at 7:15 a.m. in room 501. If your student still has questions after reviewing the material, have him or her stop by Student Activities.

Divisional Elections Are Approaching As Well
If your student is a current freshman, sophomore, or junior interested in representing his or her class next year as a student government representative, the INFORMATIONAL meeting will take place Thursday, April 7th, at 7:15 a.m. in the Monarch Room. Beginning tomorrow, students can visit the Activities page on myMitty to get details on the election process and download the application. Have questions? Stop by Student Activities.

Final NCAA Signing Day at AMHS

Register Now for our Spring NCAA Signing Day - April 13th
Archbishop Mitty High School hosts three NCAA Signing Days on campus each year. Information about these events was mailed home to senior parents in early September. Please take time to review the letter as well as the AMHS NCAA Signing Day website for information about which seniors qualify to participate in these signing events. Questions regarding NCAA Signing Days at AMHS should be directed to Mr. Josh Walker, Director of Athletics. The deadline to register for the April 13th NCAA Signing Day is TODAY, April 4th.

Annual Senior Mothers' Luncheon is Coming

All senior mothers are invited to join Mr. Brosnan and the AMHS administration for a special luncheon on Friday, April 15th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Invitations to this special event were emailed to all senior mothers on Monday, March 14th. Please RSVP online through the special invitation. RSVPs must be received by this Wednesday, April 6th.

Performing Arts

An Evening with Sal Lozano
Jazz in the AM, in conjunction with the West Valley College Jazz Band, is pleased to bring Sal Lozano to the Bay Area to perform in the Thomas Kinkade Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 9th, at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Lozano is currently the second alto in Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band and has recorded with various artists, including Christina Aguilera and Stevie Wonder. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and are available online.

Jazz Band and Jazz Choir Auditions
Jazz in the AM and Kind of Blue, our award-winning jazz groups, will be holding auditions for next year's groups beginning this week. Auditions will take place in the Music Center after school on Thursday, April 7th. Current Mitty students can sign up for an audition time on the Performing Arts section of the Mitty website.

1st Place Sweepstakes for National Quals Congress

This weekend the Archbishop Mitty Speech & Debate Team competed at its final tournament of the year, the National Qualifying Tournament for Congressional Debate. Eight Monarchs were recognized for their performance. Congratulations to sophomore Mukil Pari; juniors Siddhant Gannu, Lucas Kernan, Charlie Pyle; and senior Jonathan Pham for being recognized as tournament finalists. A special congratulations goes to junior Akaash Tawade and seniors Pranav Govindaraju and Ismail Shaik for qualifying to the National Championships in Salt Lake City this June. Our Monarchs took three out of four spots. They will join 11 other Monarchs who have qualified to the tournament in June, making the team's largest national entry to date. As a team, Mitty was also recognized for being the top-performing school at the tournament, winning the first place overall sweepstakes award. Go Monarchs!

Athletics Report

Spring Has Sprung
As everyone returns from Easter Break, our spring sports program will also be returning to action. Here's a quick overview of the various varsity home contests on offer this week...

Monday 4/4: Our softball and badminton teams will be in action with a pair of 4:00 p.m. starts. Softball welcomes Sacred Heart Cathedral on the Four-Acre Field, while badminton play host to Oak Grove High School in the Brother Fien Gym.

Tuesday 4/5: St. Ignatius College Prep visits Bill Barone Field in a big WCAL baseball contest, while softball returns for its second home game in as many days when they face Valley Christian. As with Monday, both games are set to begin at 4:00 p.m.

Thursday 4/7: The action switches to the Aquatics Center for both our men's and women's swimmers. The Monarchs face the Fighting Irish of Sacred Heart Cathedral in a WCAL dual meet. The action starts at 3:00 p.m. You can also take in more badminton with a stroll into the Fien Gym, as the team faces Willow Glen High School at 4:00 p.m.

Friday 4/8: Lincoln High School rounds out the third of three home BVAL badminton contests, and you guessed it... the action begins at 4:00 p.m.

With so many events to choose from, there's something for everyone, so come on out and enjoy some exciting spring Monarch sports action. Admission is free, and as always, you can get all the most current game times and locations for all our Monarch Athletics teams by checking out the "Today's Games" link on the AMHS website.
