Monarch Madness XXV Tickets will be Available Soon!!!
Tickets for Monarch Madness will be available soon. Each student will need to respond to a digital request from Student Activities this week indicating that he or she wishes to attend the event. Students who do not reply to the request will not receive their designated wristband for admission during a special homeroom at 8:20 a.m. on Thursday, March 3rd.
Tickets for family and friends will be $7.00 each, and names will be chosen using a lottery system. Each student will have an opportunity to enter his or her name for the lottery (for a maximum of TWO family/friend tickets) by replying YES to a request that will be emailed on February 18th. Names will be drawn on February 23rd and 24th, and the students chosen will have 48 hours to come into Student Activities to purchase those tickets. We realize there is a high demand for Monarch Madness tickets, and we feel this is the most efficient and fair method for tickets to be sold.
Have questions regarding Monarch Madness? Please check the Monarch Madness page under Student Life for FAQs that might provide you with answers. Otherwise, feel free to contact Student Activities. |

In addition to attending the event, there are several other ways you can make the event a super success... encourage your friends to attend, help in the committee, donate or help acquire auction items, or make a cash underwriting donation. A very special underwriters reception will be held for underwriting donations over $2,000.
Next general meeting is March 10th in the Monarch Room at 7:00 p.m.
Parent volunteers are hard at work planning the event. Donations, both items and underwriting, are now being accepted for the auction. In addition to attendance, be a part of this great evening through all levels of participation.
If you want to learn more about The Mitty Auction and how you can help, please plan to attend or contact Sarah Janigian, Director of Special Events, at (408) 342-4224 or via email at sjanigian@mitty.com. |

Athletics Report
Championship Wednesday for Women's Hoops and Soccer
This Wednesday is a big one for our women's basketball and soccer teams as both squads are on the brink of locking up their respective WCAL regular season titles following two sets of wins this past week.
The basketball team earned a 63-24 win over Presentation last Wednesday night in the Fien Gym in a game which also saw head coach Sue Phillips receive a special award to commemorate her 600th career win earlier this season. The Monarchs then traveled to Valley Christian on Saturday evening where they posted a 73-44 victory over the Warriors to move to within one win of the championship.
Meanwhile, the soccer team firmly placed one hand on the trophy on Wednesday afternoon with a big 1-0 home win over then-league leaders St. Francis. That victory pulled the team even in the standings with the Lancers, and with St. Francis idle on Saturday, the Monarchs moved into sole possession of first on the strength of a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep.
Both teams can clinch their league banners with wins on Wednesday. The soccer team will be in action first at John Mise Park vs. Valley Christian at 3:15 p.m. Action then shifts back to the Fien gym and for a 7:30 p.m. tip off versus Sacred Heart Cathedral. Best of luck to both teams.
Varsity Wrestling Shows Well at League Championship
The varsity wrestling team had an impressive showing at last weekend's WCAL Championships, with three Monarchs capturing first place finishes via pins. The league championship honor roll includes senior Daniel Woodward (160 lbs.), junior Mark Chaid (182 lbs.), and senior Blake Flovin (220 lbs.). In addition to our three champions, seven of our remaining nine wrestlers qualified to advance to the CCS Championships on the strength of two second place, four third place, and one fourth place finishes. Congratulations to the team for a great outing! |
