Confirmation
The Archbishop Mitty High School Confirmation Formation Process prepares Catholic students to complete their initiation into the Church through the Sacrament of Confirmation. Campus Ministry encourages all sophomores who have been baptized and have a desire to be fully initiated into the Catholic community to prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Juniors and seniors who are not yet confirmed are also welcome to enroll. The Confirmation Formation Process consists of three Monday evening meetings that focus on strengthening the faith community; deepening the individual's Catholic faith by reflecting on the gifts of the Holy Spirit at work in their lives; and by examining the roles and responsibilities of confirmed members of the Catholic community. With the help of peer leaders, the process encourages small and large group fellowship, characteristics of discipleship, and sacramental preparation. The Formation Process begins in early February and concludes with the celebration of Confirmation at Archbishop Mitty on May 5, 2016. Online registration is now open and closes on December 1st. To register, please go to the AMHS website, then to Quick Links, and select Confirmation.

2016-2017 Financial Aid Application

Our online Financial Aid Application for the 2016-2017 school year will be available on our mitty.com website starting November 22nd. All families requesting financial aid will be directed to our website to create an account with PSAS, the outside service the Diocese of San Jose retains to collect and evaluate levels of financial need. If you are new to the program, you will be asked to provide an email address and a password. For families that filed for financial aid last year, you can access your account as a returning applicant by using your login information. Once you have created an account, you can login when convenient; fill out the application, update, change and save information; track your progress; and communicate directly with helpful and knowledgeable staff members at PSAS. For returning applicants, your previous information has been saved for easy reference. The application is easy to navigate, the instructions are clear, it's available in English and Spanish, and only one application per family is required. This process has been mainstreamed to provide a faster, simpler, friendlier service to our families.

Student Activities

Another Phenomenal Spirit Week!
Our community enjoyed another Spirit Week with a variety of activities, dress days, and student participation. The week started with "Rep the Bay," as everyone wore their most patriotic outfits and national colors. On Tuesday, students dressed as "Tacky Tourist Tuesday." Wednesday was class color day and another action-packed game of powder puff football. Characters from Finding Nemo, Dodgeball, Up! and Back to the Future were roaming the campus on Thursday. Friday was Mitty Wear Day, so students dressed with Mitty pride and enjoyed an exciting and deafening spirit rally.

Amid heavy competition in powder puff football, cheerleader dancing, and epic tug-o-war, the numbers spoke for themselves. In the end, the Class of 2017 accumulated over 234 points and will have its class year engraved on the Spirit Week trophy. But with the work of class representatives, ASB, and our students, the entire Archbishop Mitty community was truly victorious.

2015 Homecoming
Students from each class once again graced our Homecoming Court. Students were nominated by our faculty and staff, with members of each class voting for their classmates. These students received their acknowledgement on Saturday night at the Homecoming Dance.

Homecoming King & Queen: Tyler Trees & Ember Oania-Hopkins

2015 Homecoming Court:

Class of 2018: Faizon Bannister & Ali Bell

Athletics Report

Field Hockey Repeats
The varsity field hockey team begins its CCS playoff run with the number-one seed in the tournament. The Monarchs finished on top of the BVAL standings and received the top spot in the post-season thanks to their 11-1-5 record.

Because of its top seed, the team earned a first-round bye and will move straight to the quarterfinals to face the winner of the Leigh vs. Cupertino opening round match. The quarterfinal contest is scheduled for Saturday at Del Mar High School beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Women's Volleyball Sweeps League Honors
After capturing the regular season championship earlier this month, the women's volleyball made it a clean sweep of league titles by winning the WCAL playoffs. The Monarchs defeated Sacred Heart Cathedral 18-25, 25-21, 25-19, 26-24 in last Thursday night's championship match, avenging their only league loss to the Fighting Irish in October.

The team moves on to the CCS playoffs, where it received the number-one seed in Division II. First up for the Monarchs will be a quarterfinal match against the Branham vs. Christopher first round winner. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. this Saturday right here in the Brother Fein Gym.
