To Register/Set Up Your Account:
- Go to www.turnitin.com.
- In the upper right hand corner of the screen, click on “Create a User Profile.”
- At the next screen, click on “Student.”
- At the next screen, enter the class ID and the class enrollment password. You will receive this from your instructor.
- Enter your email address. Please select an email address that you constantly use. You will be penalized for setting up a second account.
- Enter your turnitin.com password. It must by 6-12 characters, inclusive of 1 letter and 1 number. WRITE THIS PASSWORD DOWN!
- At the next screen, input your first name, last name, country of residence, and state of residence.
- Read on the terms and conditions and click “I agree.”
- End the set-up wizard and go back to the login screen.
To submit a paper:
- Go to www.turnitin.com.
- In the upper right hand corner of the screen, login with your email address and password.
- Click on the appropriate class to submit a paper. Make sure you submit your paper to the right class period!
- Click on “Find appropriate assignment.” Find the appropriate titled assignment that you are about to turn in (i.e., The Scarlet Letter paper or A Raisin in the Sun paper or A Separate Peace paper).
- Then, click on “Submit.”
- Enter a title for your submission. This can be as simple as A Raisin in the Sun Paper.
- Choose the file to submit. Find the place where you have saved the paper on your computer (i.e., desktop, file, etc.). When you have found the paper, click on it.
- When the title of the paper is in the box next to “Choose File,” click “Submit.”
- You will then be shown your paper. MAKE SURE YOU ARE TURNING IN THE CORRECT PAPER – THE EXACT SAME ONE THAT YOU HAVE SUBMITTED IN CLASS. When you’re sure that you’re submitting the right paper, click “yes.”
- You will then receive a digital receipt. This is your proof that you submitted the paper on time. You can print it out or simply save the copy that is emailed to you.
Reminder: You must submit your paper by midnight on the date that it is due.
