Archbishop Mitty Chamber Choir

This is an intensive small ensemble that will explore a wide variety of choral music.  Comprised of students from the Concert Choir, all experienced singers with good sight singing skills are encouraged to audition.  Auditions will be held within the first two weeks of the 2007-2008 school year.   This group performs at many functions throughout the school year including the Christmas and Spring Concerts, festivals, and other school and community events.

Archbishop Mitty Concert Choir

The Concert Choir is a more advanced choral experience.  The Concert Choir performs extensively both on and off campus for such events as the Christmas and Spring Concerts, festivals, and other school and community events.  All grades may participate.  Auditions are required.  This is a full year course that meets daily in the music room.

Archbishop Mitty Jazz Choir

This advanced vocal ensemble concentrates on tight harmonic vocal jazz. Exercises are performed weekly to improve singing quality and tone.  Music theory is also taught to improve sight singing, improvisation, and basic music skills.  Performances are held both on and off campus including the Christmas in the Park, Java and Jazz, Jazz on the Green, Bay Area Jazz Festivals, the Black and Gold Gala, and other Mitty concerts.  Auditions are required.  This is a class that will meet after school, four days a week.

Archbishop Mitty Vocal Ensemble

The Vocal Ensemble is specially designed to teach the inexperienced chorister.  No experience is necessary.   The class covers the basics of singing technique, performance practice, reading music, musical styles, and solo performance.  A wide variety of musical styles are explored through the choral selections.  This group performs at a variety of concerts throughout the school year on and off campus.  From freshmen to seniors, all are encouraged to join. This is a full year course that meets in the music room.
