Performing ArtsChristmas Time is Here!The Christmas season continues for the Performing Arts Department this week with two great performances. Our second Christmas Concert will be Wednesday, December 7th, and will feature the Orchestra, Jazz Band, Exodus, and the Concert Choir. Next, the Winter Dance Recital will be Thursday, December 8th, and will feature our Dance 1 and Dance 2 classes and our dance team, the Royals. Admission is free. All the events start at 7:00 p.m. and take place in the Thomas Kinkade Center for the Arts. They will followed by dessert receptions in the Aymar Events Center. Also, plan to join the Jazz Choir, Jazz Band, and Exodus from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16th, at Christmas in the Park. Come out and enjoy some lively holiday music and traditional holiday fun. Rock of Ages tickets on sale now! Tickets are now on sale for the ultimate '80s rock musical, Rock of Ages: School Edition, featuring memorable tunes such as "We Built This City," "The Final Countdown," "I Wanna Know What Love Is," and "Don't Stop Believin.'" Warning: This hilarious story of a small town girl falling for a wannabe rock star may unleash your inner rock god and have you reaching for your air guitar in the aisles. Performances run January 13th-21st, 2017. Tickets can be purchased online for $14 for adults and $10 for students. Get your tickets today! Athletics ReportVolleyball Team Captures State ChampionshipCongratulations to our women's volleyball team, which swept the first ever CIF Open Division state championship this weekend. The Monarchs were victorious in their game against Santa Margarita Catholic High School, turning out straight sets of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-18 to claim a 3-0 win. Senior Candice Denny had 17 kills, while juniors Nicole Liddle and Kamrin Caoili contributed 13 kills and 10 kills respectively. The Monarchs have taken home 13 state titles since 1993, with this victory marking the fifth consecutive state title. Read more about the game in the San Francisco Chronicle or The Mercury News. First Semester Final Examination ScheduleThe first semester final schedule is available for viewing on our AMHS website. First semester finals will take place on Monday, December 19th through Wednesday, December 21st. Please access the finals schedule by clicking here.Students who might have conflicts because two finals are scheduled at the same time (i.e. two mathematics or science courses) need to see Mrs. Lori Robowski, registrar, as soon as possible to schedule an alternate time for one of the finals. 2017-2018 Financial Aid Application Now AvailableWe are pleased to announce the Financial Aid Application for the 2017-2018 school year is now available online at mitty.com and is due February 6, 2017.All families requesting financial aid will be directed to the school's website to create an account with FACTS, an outside service the Diocese of San Jose has retained to collect and evaluate levels of financial need. FACTS purchased PSAS, the previous management company used by the diocese, so while the application has changed, the documentation (copies of 2015 Federal Tax Returns and 2016 W-2's) and requested financial information is the same. You will be asked to provide an email address and a password. Once you have created an account, you can log in when convenient; fill out the application; update, change and save information; track your progress; and communicate directly with helpful and knowledgeable FACTS staff members. The application is easy to navigate. The instructions are clear and available in English and Spanish. Only one application per family is required. Documentation can be uploaded, mailed, or faxed directly to FACTS. Please make sure you include your application ID on all correspondence. Award letters will be mailed in March for incoming freshmen and in April for returning families.
