Summer Course Work

AMHS Students and Summer Course Work
AMHS students are welcome to explore new interests by taking enrichment coursework during the summer. Please note that the school will not approve enrollment in any course that is offered during the regular school year at AMHS. The only exception to this rule is course work that has been approved for advancement by a department chair. If a student requires a signature for summer coursework, please bring the paperwork to the Main Office, and Ms. Caputo will review the paperwork and return it to the student within 24-hours.

Counseling

Seniors Grades
As we finish the school year, please take good care of your grades! Your colleges acceptances require that you maintain your academic performance until graduation. If you are missing assignments, please turn them in. If you are struggling in any classes, please meet with your teacher(s) and counselor immediately.

Dual Course Placement in a Single Subject Area
Students who are qualified for a second course in a given subject area and who would like to be considered for dual placement may submit an email request to Mrs. Waterbury. Students do NOT need to email Mrs. Waterbury if they have already completed the science, math, or social studies Google forms for dual placement. Mrs. Waterbury will keep a waiting list for students interested in doubling up courses within the same subject area.

Dual placement in any subject area is NOT guaranteed. The courses that students may see on the student placement database are courses for which they are qualified.

Priority in all of these instances is given to seniors and students who require a course for graduation. While we will do our best to meet student requests, dual placement in any subject is NOT guaranteed.
