All seniors are required to attend graduation. All other students and members of the AMHS community are encouraged to join us.
Seniors must arrive and report to rooms in the 100 and 500 wings by 8:30 a.m.
Caps and gowns are to be worn during the ceremony. Seniors are encouraged to wear their Kairos crosses and NHS/CSF stoles, no other additions may be made to the graduation gown. Graduates may wear flowers, etc., only after the ceremony has ended.
Male graduates are to dress in semi-formal attire, with a collared shirt and tie beneath the graduation gown. Shorts may not be worn under the graduation gown. Female graduates should dress in correspondingly semi-formal attire. Athletic shoes, thong-type sandals, or strapless tops are not acceptable dress.
Sunglasses may be worn by graduates only while they are seated in the stadium. So graduates may bring sunglasses to carry into and out of the stadium, they may not wear them on the stage or as they enter or process out of the stadium.
Note: All school rules, (including those that relate to grooming) are in effect during this event.
And: Graduates may not carry cameras or video cameras or any other materials not essential to the graduation ceremony.
Also: Seating will be provided to guests on a first-come, first- served basis. There is no limit to the number of guests that attend, and tickets are not used for this event. Gates will open at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, June 3rd. No reserving of seats prior to this time will be allowed.
Please: Renting a plane to do a fly-by with a message to a graduate or the class during the graduation ceremony is a bad idea, as it disrupts the ceremony. Engine noise makes it difficult to hear.
Special Note: Citti's flowers will be on campus the morning of the graduation ceremony by 8:00 a.m. Leis may be purchased for the graduates.
Also: The graduation ceremony will be professionally videotaped and copies of that videotaped production may be ordered using the order form included in the packet the seniors receive on April 23rd.
CAPS AND GOWNS,
GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS
A cap and a gown are required of each senior, as the gown is worn at Baccalaureate Mass and the cap and gown are worn at the graduation ceremony. The school ordered a cap and gown for each senior, and these are to be distributed to seniors on May 16th. Problems with caps and gowns should be referred to Student Activities, 408-342-4253 on campus.
Graduation announcements are an option that many seniors choose, and those seniors that ordered them earlier in the year should have received them during March. Problems with announcements should be directed to Herff-Jones: 408-371-0600.
