ECJ Application Process
Step 1: Apply For Courses: January 12 through February 2
Complete our on-line form to apply for the ECJ courses with your parent. A portion of the application will include health information that your parents need to fill out themselves.
* Please note the more classes a student selects, the greater the chance he or she will be placed into an ECJ course. Please, however, only select classes you'd be interested in taking.
Step 2: Teacher Recommendation Form
After submitting your application, please download a teacher recommendation form . Give the form to an academic teacher whom you would like to speak on your behalf about your qualifications for an ECJ course and immersion. Please give teachers time to fill this form out prior to the February 2nd due date.
Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid if Needed
There is a limited amount of money available to help students attend immersion programs. If you wish to receive financial aid for the cost of the immersion, you must first apply for financial aid for tuition through the business office. The deadline to do so is February 4th. Campus ministry grants the same percentage for financial aid for immersions as the business office does for tuition. (Exp. 25% tuition reduction = 25% immersion reduction). If your family does not qualify for financial aid for tuition, we cannot grant you financial aid for immersion trips. Please go to the following site to file for financial aid for the 09-10 school year by the 4th. Notification of aid will not be given until late April to early May.
Step 4: Check Your Email
In mid to late February you will receive an email via your mittymonarch account letting you know if you were accepted into an ECJ course and which one. Please note that we have many more students apply than we have spots. If you receive a spot, it may not be your first choice. Acceptance is based on gender balance and diversity, teacher reference, and student responses. If, however, we have a large pool of equally qualified candidates, we will implement a lottery style process.
Step 5: Confirm Trip via Email and Pick Up Forms
If you receive an email stating you have been placed on a trip, please respond via email stating if you accept the ECJ placement. You must also pick up forms in campus ministry and fill them out by the date indicated on the packet.
If you did not receive a spot on the trip, you will automatically be placed on the waiting list and we will contact you if a spot becomes available. If you have any questions, please come speak with Mr. Wesmiller or Ms. Walker.
