The women’s track and field team captured a WCAL title. In addition, the following Mitty athletes qualified for the State track and field championships:
The men’s track and field team got 3rd place at the CCS championships. Drew Gordon qualified for state in the shot put (2nd place) and the discus (2nd place). Kevin Toth qualified in the 400 (2nd place). The men’s 4x400 team [Brian Dunlay, Thomas Reynolds, Laurence Duterte and Kevin Toth] also qualified (2nd place) and set a school record with a time of 3:20.42. Rounding out the men’s scoring was Thomas Reynolds in the 200 [5th place].
The women’s track and field team got 5th place at the CCS championships. Renisha Robinson won the 800 with a PR at 2:09.08. The women’s 4x400 team got 4th place with a season PR and ended up qualifying for state because the 3rd place team scratched themselves from state competition. Also qualifying for the state was Nicole Sliva in the 300 hurdles (season PR and 2nd place overall).
