The Monarch Badminton program is a rising power in the local prep badminton scene. The Monarchs served notice of that fact by capturing the 2009 Blossom Valley Athletic League championship. The title was the first by a Monarch squad, but with a deep and talented pool of singles and doubles players, it’s certain not to be the last. As the new championship banner is raised in Fein Gym, coach Wilfredo Vargas has a lot to smile about.
