In what can only be described as a dream season, the Archbishop Mitty football team made one of the most amazing single season turn-arounds in bay area high school sports history. After ending the previous season with only one win, the Monarchs players and coaches committed themselves to proving the doubters wrong, and prove them wrong they did! The team posted an amazing 9-1-1 record in 2009, taking a share of the WCAL title in a “worst to first” story that even Hollywood might envy. Along the way, the squad restored a sense of respect to themselves and the whole school community. Monarch Pride is most definitely alive and well!
