Parent Communications

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Sign-up for Parent-Teacher Conferences for March 17.

Parents are encouraged to contact teachers whenever there is a particular concern regarding a student.  In addition, following each mid-term grading period, the end of the 1st and 3rd quarters, parents may call the school to make an appointment to meet with a teacher on the publicized parent-teacher conference night.

This year the Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled as follows:

  • Monday, October 29, 2007, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Monday, March 17, 2008, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Telephone Conferences/Voicemail/Email

Parents and teachers are encouraged to communicate by phone and/or e-mail.  Since teachers are often difficult to reach, please contact the teacher’s voice mailbox or email and leave a message. Teachers return voice mail and e-mail messages within 24 hours.

Phone mail and e-mail are avenues parents can use to clarify issues or inform a teacher of circumstances related to a student’s growth or performance. e-mail and voicemail are not avenues for obtaining grade updates or for reporting attendance information.  Teachers regularly inform students of their grade progress and the Attendance Office requires personal notes relating to all absences.

Parent Reports

Parent Reports are written by teachers and mailed home to parents when teachers are

concerned about a student’s academic progress or behavior.  The reports are also kept on file in the Counseling and Guidance Office and the Main Office. Students sign Parent Reports at school acknowledging the content of the report prior to the report being mailed home.

Progress Reports/WEBgrade

Parents and students may review a student’s progress by consulting WEBGrade. Teachers upload grades at the end of each month. Some teachers upload more often. Grades on WEBGrade are current the first day of each month.
